Duluth, MN is a beautiful city on the shores of the great Lake Superior. The landscape and natural beautuy is apparant at any point throughout the city. Whether you are down in trendy Canal Park, or sitting atop one of the large hills that make up the city, you have access to a view that is second to none in Minnesota.

There are so many perks to being a temporary citizen of the city of Duluth. I highly enjoy exploring the trails of the Bagley nature center, or talking a walk along the shores of the lake, getting my feet a bit wet. And of course, the natural beauty here would make any woman melt in a man's arms. For this reason, it should be the favorite of many men.

Not only is the scenery a plus here, but the University has been well prepared for the perpetual winter. The concourse makes for warm walks to and from class, the DC, or anywhere else on campus that one needs to travel. I think this sets the university apart from most to all other universities. It is a very helpful advantage for not only warmth, but also navigation.

Duluth is a beautiful city with many advantages that come along with residence. The winters are cold and long, but that is a small price to pay for the natural beauty and serenity that is Duluth, MN.

Although Duluth is a beautiful place to live, it also has its disadvantages. The winters in Duluth are fridged, and nasty. The temperature outside often reaches far below 0 degrees, and all you can do to survive is bundle up in your parkas, snowpants, hats, mittens, boots, and scarfs. Hot chocolate is also a beverage to keep on hand in order to keep your insides from freezing.

Another downfall of Duluth winters is the accident inducing driving conditions. The steep hills can be especially dreadful even after the first snowfall of the year. The slippery conditions make for a higher occurance of auto accidents. Drivers need to pay extra attention, and be very causious while behind the wheel because of the changing road conditions. There is often times layers of ice under the freshly fallen snow, it is wise to go under the speed limits to avoid collisions

If one were to ask teenagers in Duluth, what there is to do for fun any night of the week, it may take a minute to get a response. This would be because of the fact that the City of Duluth lacks activites for those of us who are under the age of 21. The attempt of creating a place for teens to go has been weak. Places such as "Splash" night club on Superior Street often turn into high school hang outs, even when they're supposed to be places for people 18 and older. Because of this, many college students would prefer to not even go there in the first place. Other hang outs may be fun for the first time, but after that it really is not worth going back.
