September 2001 - present:


Associate Professor of Sociology, Department of Sociology-Anthropology, University of Minnesota, Duluth. Responsible for teaching courses in Social Psychology, Deviance, Qualitative Methods, and Sociology of Women, as well as representing UMD at professional meetings and in service to the campus and community.

 

September 1995 - 2001:


Assistant Professor of Sociology, Department of Sociology-Anthropology, University of Minnesota, Duluth. Responsible for teaching Deviance, Social Psychology, Studies in Popular Culture, and Sociology & Social Problems, as well as representing UMD at professional meetings and in service to the campus and community.

 

May 1997 to Fall 1999


Coordinator of the Graduate Teaching Assistant Training and Orientation, The Graduate School, University of Minnesota, Duluth. Responsible for planning and implementing the training program, as well as assessing the program and writing a report.

Teaching/Writing Assistant, Dept. of Sociology, Saginaw Valley State University. Responsible for both assisting students in writing papers in their Principles of Sociology course and assisting the professor in grading students' papers.

 

August 1989 to April 1990:


Student Employee, Department of Sociology, Saginaw Valley State University. Responsible for assisting departmental secretaries and Sociology professors in their daily tasks. In addition, assisted a demographer in coding data from census tracks.

 

September 1989 to November 1989:


Tutor, Learning Success Center, Saginaw, Michigan. Responsible for tutoring children in a variety of academic subjects.

Research Assistant, Kercher Center for Social Research, Western Michigan University: Community Prevention Partnership (Evaluation Research), Kalamazoo County, Summer 1992. Responsible for assisting evaluators in the design of a survey instrument and the computing and analysis of the data.
