A couple of additional points:
1) For those of you who are assigned two articles in your set, my intentions are that you should combine the meaning of the two articles together into a single theme. I am aware that some of these articles appear to have divergent trains of thought. That is why I have put them together.
2) I will begin class with two components this week:
a. I will ask you to describe how you have used materials from
the past two classes in your teaching so far ( I want to continue
with this line of thought to help to build how you are becoming
more deliberate on WHY you are using the techniques and methods
that you are choosing in your teaching).
b. I will complete the theories that we were discussing in the
past class - those on Environmental Education.
3) Strive to determine how the Adventure Ed. theories apply in an EE setting, as well as how the EE theories apply in an AE setting. In addition, strive to determine how both EE & AE are appropriate in a formal education setting - with any discipline. That is, how are these theories good LEARNING theories?
4) Focus on the Purpose and/or Problem statement plus the conlcusion of the article. Do not spend too much time trying to figure out methodology and/or analysis. This class is about the theory - and how a theory has been derived. The context I want you to focus on are: outcome; historical significance; and/or topic.
For example:
I look forward to meeting with again.
A REMINDER: CLASS MEETS FROM 1-5 PM. WE WILL MEET AT WRELC.
