Project Homeless Connect/Homeless Sleep Out
Project Homeless Connect offers a one-stop opportunity for the Duluth area homeless to access the services they need. Over 50 Duluth community support service sites will be in attendance providing medical attention, permanent housing access and information, legal services, driver license renewal, employment services, and much, much more. Individuals that volunteer with Project Homeless Connect have an opportunity to assist in a leadership and some aspect of the event, conduct intake interviews of individuals and families that are currently homeless and are in need of services, and possibly participate in the Homeless Sleep Out Event held on Saturday the 13th of October. Acquiring the 15 hours is flexible depending on the UMD student volunteer needs, except for attendance to the actual PHC event on October 24th from 10-3pm, and training the morning of the event from 8-10am.
