| St. Luke's Lutheran Church is situated across
the street to the north of Holy Family Hospital
on the west edge of New Richmond, Wi. The sign
and long lawn set off the church building. To
enter the parking lot, turn north from Highway
64 on West River Drive, go 1 block left and
turn left.
This congregation formed in 1938. The first
building is next to the present day Post Office.
Approximately 1,000 members are affiliated with
the congregation with a growing number of young
families.
The inside of the building, the sanctuary,
is a "safe place" to which people
may "retreat" in order to be "sent
out" to the daily life of disciples. The
alter symbolizes the presence of God from which
the Lord's supper is served. The pulpit is for
the proclamation of God's Word. The baptismal
font marks the place where God has made us his
own, loved and precious. The large cross is
the familiar sign of the death of the Lamb of
God for our forgiveness.
