Investigators

Our study was carried out by a team of seniors enrolled in Anthropology 5626.  The following is a brief description of each investigator, their interests and plans for the future.

Principle Investigator:  Linda Belote

Linda Belote is a professor at UMD.  She is a Latin Americanist with a special interest in the Saraguro Indians of Ecuador.  She is the treasurer for the Society for Latin American Anthropology (SLA).  Dr. Belote graduated from the University of Illinois.

Pat Nelson

Pat is a senior at UMD and will graduate May 22nd 1999.  Pat will be receiving BA degrees in Psychology and Anthropology.  Pat has been accepted into the Counseling Psychology graduate program at UMD and will start in that program in the fall of 1999.  Pat's career goal is to obtain a position as a high school counselor.  Pat plans to keep one foot in the world of anthropology throughout his life.

Heather Dolan

Hi! My name is Heather Dolan.  I am a senior at the University of Minnesota Duluth and I will be graduating this spring with degrees in Communication and Anthropology.  I plan to go back to graduate school someday, but in the meantime, I hope to become an Admissions Counselor for a college or university in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area.

Mary Jo Hannu

Mary Jo is a senior in Anthropology at UMD with plans to do graduate work in Nutrition and with hopes for a Ph.D. in Anthropology.  Special interests
include complimentary healthcare and food as medicine.
