The signal disc is mounted on a three leg tripod anchored to the ground. This 1/8th inch, 5 foot aluminum disc is balanced in place w/a 1/4" x 4 inch stainless bolt. Viewed from the side the sandwich ingredients which achieved its balance include---starting at the top--- (a) the tip of the bolt, (b) 1" brass washer, (c) 1 " convex sink washer, (d) the Signal Disc, (e) a fat, hard plastic 1 " washer, (f) 1 " convex sink washer, (g) 1" brass washer (h) hard hockey puck, (i) soft hockey puck, (j) 1 " brass washer, (k) flat plane of the tripod base, and (l) 1" brass nut.

FOLLOWING A SUMMER 01 STORM THE OTHERWISE PERFECTLY CIRCULAR ALUMINUM DISC HAS BEEN SLIGHTLY ALTERED BY FALLING LIMBS .

THE LEFT IMAGE SHOWS A TRIANGULAR STRUCTURE DIRECTLY BENEATH THE DISC WHICH WILL UTILIZE 4 SENSORS & SOLAR-POWERED PREAMPS AND 4 FM TRANSMITTERS. THE CONSTRUCTION RESTS BENEATH THE CANOPY OF BIRCH, ASPEN AND COTTONWOOD TREES. TAKING ADVANTAGE OF WIND PROTECTION AFFORDED BY NEIGHBORING TREES THE LISTENINGSITE IS PRIMARILY INTENED FOr LISTENING TO POST STORM RAINS IN WHICH HEAVILY LADEN LEAVES WOULD LIKELY RELEASE THEIR DROPLETS UPON THIS MONITORABLE SURFACE. FM RECEIVERS IN REALTIME PASS THE DROPLET SOUNDS TO MIXER & COMPUTER A'S AUDIO CARD W/DSP WHILST THROUGHPUTING TO SERVER B. POSSIBLY ON TO YOU .
