Long Description for Chart 1: "Comparing two timeframes and five bug categories"

Purpose

The purpose of Chart 1 is to provide a comparison of accessibility bugs in two timeframes and identify trends.

Comparisons

The August 15-21, 2010 (current week) timeframe is compared to the June 15, 2008 to August 21, 2010 (total a11y bugs to date) timeframe. The current week has less than one fifth of the total a11y bugs to date.

Each timeframe compares five resolved bug categories. Those categories are WONTFIX, NEEDSINFO, FIXED, INVALID, and LATER.

Trends

All five bug categories trend the same proportionality for the two date groupings. The first three bug types lead in quanities.

  1. WONTFIX is by far the leading category with 50 total bugs for the full time frame and a little less than 10 bugs for the week. Approximately half of the bugs for the week are WONTFIX.
  2. NEEDSINFO is a significant category with 30 plus total bugs. It follows WONTFIX as the second leading category in numbers.
  3. FIXED bugs are a bit less but similar in number to the NEEDSINFO category. There are less than four FIXED bugs for August 15-21 and a little less than thirty FIXED bugs in total.

After these first three categories, quantities trail off dramatically for the INVALID and LATER categories. No LATER bugs appear for the week of August 15-21.
