Muse Information

The Roaring Muse is a small literary arts magazine produced solely by students. Except for printing and occasional graphic design help, all of the work of publishing the magazine is voluntary.

Although we sell the muse for $3.00 an issue, it is a not for profit project. We typically lose between $50 and $100 per issue. We do it because it's a rewarding experience, it helps student writers and artists get published, and it's a lot of fun.

We accept any form of writing or artwork from anyone in the world. However, we try to keep our focus on UMD students

We publish one issue of The Roaring Muse per school year. Deadlines for submission vary from year to year. Although they are typically around the end of fall semester.
