Welcome to the UMD Teaching English Homepage. These pages
are designed not only to give students in the UMD Teaching English
program quick access to advisement and course information, but
also to provide a forum for downloading, comparing--and sharing
ideas--about teaching units and great adolescent literature. As
these pages grow through your contributions and participation,
we hope that it becomes a site you visit again and again.
Perhaps our greatest challenge as educators is to reconceive the nature of literacy learning as something that students and teachers create through their experiences. Here are some experiences for you:
