The BLASTn algorithm was used to identify Expressed Sequence Tags (ESTs) expressed in the heart of thirteen-lined ground squirrels. ESTs which showed multiple identification tags were aligned as described by Brauch et al. to create the contigs found in this library. Occasionally multiple contigs were created from the same gene-specific ESTs in cases where complete alignment could not be achieved. These identifications are noted with the contig number in parentheses.
