Center for Advocacy and Political Leadership

ABOUT THE CENTER > back

University library The core program of the Center is the new weekend Master of Advocacy and Political Leadership (MAPL) degree program for working adults. This program is designed to instruct people on how to understand the political system and how to affect changes in public policy through that system. It is also designed to train the new leaders in Minnesota's advocacy community. To accommodate students from the Twin Cities metropolitan area, the MAPL program pays for busing to Duluth each class weekend. MAPL also pays for lodging for any student living beyond 45 miles from Duluth. Currently about half of our students are from the Duluth-Superior area, and half are from the Twin Cities area.
