Nora J. Twite is an instructor of Communication at the University of Minnesota-Duluth and has been a faculty member here since 2007. She received her M. A. in Speech Communication in 2006 from the University of Wisconsin-Superior, her B. A. in Communication with a Journalism minor from UMD in 1994, and her A. A. in Journalism from Mesabi Range Community and Technical College in 1992.
Nora currently teaches Public Speaking and Interpersonal Communication at UMD. Prior to her teaching career, she has had extensive experience working with and for nonprofit agencies in the realm of community outreach, marketing, image development, strategic planning and facilitation, grant research/writing/reporting, media event planning, and volunteer programming.
She is a past Virginia Area Chamber of Commerce Ambassador, Land of the Loon Ethnic Arts and Crafts Festival Publicity Chair, American Association of University Women Newsletter Editor, Elder Services Network Marketing Committee Chair, Range Wellness Coalition Marketing Committee Member, Minnesota Office of Citizenship and Volunteer Services Advisory Board Member and Legislative Relations Chair, Virginia Rotary Newsletter Editor, and Ninth Annual National Conference of Respite and Crisis Care Programs Presenter in Arlington, Virginia.
