English 1907: Introduction to Literature
The purpose of this course is to introduce students to the modes and methods of literary study and interpretation. To accomplish this, we will focus on a variety of genres, or kinds, of literature: poetry, fiction (stories and novels), and plays. The course will introduce students to critical terms and concepts as well as methods of literary analysis and interpretation.

Unannounced reading quizzes and in-class writing assignments. (30% of final grade)
Midterm exam scheduled in the course calendar. (30% of final grade)
Final exam. (40% of final grade)
