Provides information on grant making orgazanizations such as private foundations, corporate programs, and governmental agencies. Includes foundations' addresses, areas of interest, purpose, eligiblity and application information. Also lists special stipulations where they exist. Detailed introduction describes the various types of grant-awarding sources and a chapter on "Program Planning and Proposal Writng."

Lists foundations meeting the financial criteria of at least $2 million in assets or $200,000 in annual giving. The main directory is arranged by state and foundation name. Part 2 lists foundations which make annual grants of at least $50,000.
The Foundation Center is the main source for inforamtion on funding from private philanthropic sources. The Duluth Public Library is a regional center and has the most current sources.
