Edse4400 Portfolio Development Schedule

Objective:  Complete a portfolio that demonstrates your mastery of the 10 Minnesota Standards of Effective Practice, and contains an up-to-date resume, generic cover letter, and revised philosophy of education.

All work will be submitted on Michael Gabler’s moodle site and correspondence with instructor through email:  mgabler@d.umn.edu.  There will be no face-to-face meetings for this class.

Course Grade:
50% of grade is moodle postings on reflections:  Postings must be on-time, complete, and comments to other students must be helpful and insightful.

50% of grade is on your completed portfolio:  Reflections must meet with a “3” on the rubric for all 10 of the Minnesota Standards of Effective Practice.  Portfolio must include an up-to-date resume, cover letter, and philosophy of education.  Here’s a handy check-list: portfolio checklist

Weeks 1 and 2 (January 22- February 1)
Look over the portfolio rubric:
Look over standards 1 and 2
Reflect on how standards 1 and 2 are foundational in your teaching, and visible in your classroom

Find your folder on the moodle site and post your “new and improved” reflections and artifacts by Monday February 4, 2008 at 8am.

Week 3 (February 4 - 10)
Post at least two comments on the standard 1 reflections and two comments on the standard 2 reflections for others in your group.  Due by Monday February 11 at 8am
Then, use the comments from others to improve your reflections
Promptly post your New Super-Charged reflection in your portfolio.
