Transportation, Lodging, & Work

Transportation between Duluth, MN, and Smithville, TX, will be provided by Minnesota Coaches.  Transportation to work sites in and around Smithville will be provided by Minnesota Coaches and minivans.

The group will stay at Faith Village (the First Presbyterian Church building of Smithville - http://www.fpcsmithville.org/faith-village.html).  Sleeping quarters are in a heated/air conditioned gymnasium with bunk beds and air mattresses.  Indoor restrooms are supplemented by outdoor trailer facilities.  Meals at camp will be served in a dining area; sack lunches will be provided for the work site each day.  Laundry facilities will be limited.  Faith Village has a gathering area for groups.

Work will be coordinated by the Bastrop County Long Term Recovery Team (http://www.franlan.com/BCLTR/).  Their mission is to assist low-income uninsured and underinsured individuals and families with recovery from the September 2011 wildfires.  They partner with the St. Vincent de Paul Services, the Austin Disaster Relief Network, and the Bastrop Christian Ministerial Alliance.
