The opening look of the UMD Theatre production ofCity of Angels was unique in that our production added a dance number at the beginning of the show. Since this is a musical about the making of movies in the 1940's we decided to start the show with a clip of our own 1940's movie. To show the audience how we were going to go back and forth between the movie that was being made and the makers of the movie, our opening movie clip ended with the appearance of the same characters in the same costumes live on stage.

Look closely at the photo and you'll see that the actors in the foreground are a reverse of the black and white projected image in the background.
