
All BFA Theatre Majors are required to enroll in a Practicum course each semester they are enrolled as a full time student.
TH 1301 Stagecraft, TH 1401 Costume Construction I, and TH 1501 Stage Lighting I count as Practicum courses since Practicum labs are built into each course.
• TH 1199 Performance Practicum I
One credit course taken by students cast in smaller roles in UMD Theatre Productions.
• TH 3199 Performance Practicum II
Two credit course usually taken by students cast in larger roles in UMD Theatre Productions.
• TH 1299 Theatre Marketing/Management Practicum
Two credit course required of all Theatre majors. Course requirements include working in the Box Office and helping with other aspects of marketing UMD productions.
• TH 1399 Scenery and Properties Practicum
Two credit course usually taken by transfer students who have completed TH1301 Stagecraft, but have not yet completed the lab portion of the course.
• TH 1499 Costume Practicum
Two credit course usually taken by transfer students who have completed TH1401 Costume Construction I, but have not yet completed the lab portion of the course.
• TH 1599 Lighting/Sound Practicum
One credit course usually taken by transfer students who have completed TH1501 Stage Lighting I, but have not yet completed the lab portion of the course.
• TH 1699 Running Crew Practicum
Two credit course taken by students working on a crew during performances of a specific UMD Theatre Production. Required for all Theatre Majors.
• TH 3199 Performance Practicum II
Two credit course taken by students cast in larger roles in UMD Theatre Productions.
• TH 3699 Production Management
Two credit course taken by students who assume supervisory roles for two UMD Theatre productions. Demonstrated proficiency of particular skill sets required. Required of all BFA Theatre Majors with a Stage Management Emphasis.
• TH 4399 Theatre: Special Projects
Two credit course taken by students who participate in the production team for a specific UMD Theatre Production, or direct a Stage II Production. Demonstrated proficiency of particular skill sets required. Required of all BFA Theatre Majors with a Design/Tech Emphasis.
