By now you are fully involved with your non-fiction account of Vietnam. You should be beginning to get a picture of the Vietnam war from your author's perspectives. But as you learned in Task One there is always another side to any story. For this task you are going to explore the many sides of Vietnam.

1. Research the Vietnam War. Get an idea of what it is all about.

Stats on the Vietnam War - What is the most shocking or surprising statistic you found?

Timeline- Find an event that is described in your lit book. What else was happening at that time?

Personal Stories- summarize AT LEAST one story.(located at the links as you scroll down the page.

2. Now that you have a good idea of the 'facts' Lets look at the other perspectives of the Vietnam War.

Get into your assigned groups of four.

Of this group one person will be:

a African American college student

a peace activist

a WWII veteran

a war correspondent

Go to the sites and learn about your perspective on the war.

3. The class will now break up into roles. Discuss with the other students playing your role what your position is. Be prepared to defend you characters beliefs about the war.

4. Back in your original groups of four. Discuss the War. Use all the information you have gathered from your lit book, and today's research.
