GOALS
The objective of this assignment is to put everything from the rest of the semester to use in composing an academic argumentative research paper.
ASSIGNMENT
You will write three drafts of a multi-paragraph research paper (6-10 pages) using the thesis you chose at the beginning of the semester. Your supporting arguments (claims) will be defended with cited research. Use of the first-person ("I") is, with few exceptions, inappropriate for this assignment.
The first draft will be peer reviewed. There will be an individual conference after peer review.  Draft 2 will be graded. The third and final draft will be handed in on the last normal day of classes with the previous two drafts, all of which will in turn be included in your final folder with the graded copies of the previous papers. Important: You must turn in the graded draft 2 and this sheet with the final draft, or the final draft will receive a score of zero.
USING & CITING SOURCES
Use MLA style to cite anything that requires attribution. At least six sources should be cited in the bibliography. The bibliography for drafts 2 and 3 should be annotated. Remember that final drafts submitted without a bibliography and/or internal citations will receive an automatic score of zero that cannot be made up.
