Complete Liberal Education (Lib Ed) Requirements and lower division courses during your freshman and sophomore years.

 

Thirty-five (35) credits of Lib Ed required, including:  (1) one course (minimum 2 credits) from each category; (2) one course which meets the cultural diversity requirement (*); (3) one course which meets the international perspective requirement (**)

 

Liberal Education/pre-block courses. The highlighted courses must either have a grade or C- or higher and/or be in progress during the fall sophomore year in which you apply to the UECH program. If you pursue another minor, you cannot take the courses while in the blocks. If you have a minor you must finish it before the blocks or during the summer months.

Students cannot student teach until they have completed all of the upper/lower division elementary education coursework and have removed any incomplete grades from the transcript. Students need to maintain a 2.7 GPA to be eligible for student teaching. Now is also the time to take the PRAXIS II exam, go to http://www.d.umn.edu/cehsp/StudentAffairs/praxisinformation to find out what test codes you need for registration.
