Communication Sciences & Disorders

Mark is a Professor and the Department Head of the department of Communication Sciences and Disorders. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1985. His visiting professor appointments include the China Rehabilitation Research Center in Beijing and the Shanghai Jiao Tong University in Shanghai. His teaching and research areas include assistive technology, augmentative communication, child language disorders, and dementia. Recently, he guest lectured in China at a number of institutions, China Rehabilitation Research Center in Beijing, ChongQing Children’s Hospital, and Shanghai Children’s Medical Center. He also is the program co-chair of the China International Conference on Speech Therapy, which will be held in Beijing, 2009.
