The Welch Village Ski Patrol Board of Directors met April 16 for their regular Spring Meeting.  During the meeting, a motion was presented to require helmet use by all patrollers while on duty.  After vigorous debate, the motion was voted on and passed.  This mandate takes effect Opening Day, 2009.

As the Patrol Director at Welch, I’m proud of the action taken by our Board of Directors.  Two issues were at play in this move: personal safety of our patrollers, and public perception of our staff and our responsibility to promote a safe skiing environment.  This mandate addresses both issues.
