Afton Alps Hill Refresher 2003

chair evac AFTON -   The Afton Alps Ski Patrol conducted their hill refresher over 3 weekends in December 2002.   Per National requirements, each patroller is required to refresh skills pertinent to their home area annually.   Afton patrollers refreshed in each of three skill areas.  First, each patroller was evacuated from a simulated stalled chair lift.  Each evacuee then evacuated the next  2 patrollers from the primary and secondary belayer positions.   Secondly,  patrollers took a toboggan run in each of three positions:   patient, lead, and tail-rope rescuer.  Lastly, every patroller reviewed our snowmobile features and took a familiarization drive which, for many, returned toboggans to the top of the hill.
Pat, Ron, Robyn, evacuate Connie.
