    I completed my Master's thesis under the guidance of Dr. Ted Pedersen in Natural Language Processing (NLP) more specifically on the problem of finding an Unsupervised Approach to Word Sense Disambiguation. A copy of the thesis can be found here .

   Recently, we have been dealing with various measures of semantic relatedness of words and word senses and using these measures for disambiguating text.

    A paper by us describing the above issues, experiments and results -- selected for presentation and publication in the proceedings of the CICLING-2003 conference. You can get a copy of the paper here.

    We also have an NLP group at UMD.   We meet every week and have discussions and brainstorming sessions on NLP related work.
