Brule River State Forest Erosion Control
Douglas County
Highway FF intersects a natural drainage to the Brule
River. The highway drainage ditch collected and diverted snowmelt and
rainwater into the downslope to the river. This caused heavy erosion,
highway damage, and siltation to the river.

The project restored
the original drainage. This eliminated large
volume runoff from the highway ditch. An improved dike and water
control structure was added. This waterfowl impoundment enhanced
the original drainage.
