Application for the
The Mowbray Scholarship in the Biological Sciences is awarded annually to motivated and high-achieving Biology major.
Selection Criteria: Selectee must (1) be a fulltime upper division student with a declared major in Biology at UMD; (2) Student should intend to pursue a careen in Biology, exclusive of the medical and health sciences, and (3) Scholarship should be granted on the basis of merit and commitment to a professional career in the biological sciences.

Write a one-page essay (typed, double spaced) describing your life and career goals in the biological sciences. Attach the essay to this cover sheet. Essays will be evaluated on clarity and writing ability as well as content.
