Dear Professor Chilton,

I was visiting the UMD Website and noticed that you had a homepage set up on it. After recovering from the mind bending song played along with the dancing hamsters, I clicked on the Sage Advice for Pre-Law Students.

I couldn't agree more with your advice. I feel uniquely qualified to judge it as I attended UMD, was a Political Science and Philosophy Major, continued on to law school and now work for a company that manages non-profit associations.

Although I did not take it, I wish someone would have recommended to me the Advanced Writing Courses available at UMD. You are right on target when you state that the majority of Law School (and the practice of law in the business setting) is the written word.

Regardless, remembering my undergraduate years made me smile (as did the hamsters) and I thought I would pass that along to you.

Regards,

Scott Billey
