Professional Interests

Stacey Stark, MS, GISP, is Director of the Geospatial Analysis Center (GAC) in the College of Liberal Arts at the University of Minnesota Duluth.  Stacey Stark's research involves geographic information analysis in regional sustainability applications; including hazard mitigation planning, rural community sustainability, and foodshed assessment and analysis. Stark has expertise using US Census data, network analysis, raster analysis, and geocoding addresses. The Geospatial Analysis Center conducts both internal and external services as well as grant activity. Stark educates faculty in the uses of GIS in many disciplines, and promotes the use of GIS in UMD research and in student curriculum.  In 2008, Stark received a UMD Outstanding Service Award for the Direction of this activity.
