A 120 Volt single phase source serves complex load via bundled conductor. Each conductor is 14 Gauge solid copper with a series resistance of 0.26 Ohms/100 Feet and a series inductance of 0.4 Ohms/100 Feet. The load is an electric heater, rated 1500 Watts at 120 Volts. The heater also has a blower motor rated 1/20 HP at 120 Volts. The manufacturer recommends that the heater be supplied by a source which does not exceed a voltage range of 0.95 to 1.05 pu. If the distance from source to load (i.e. the conductor length) is 100 Feet, and assuming that the motor is 60% efficient and operates at 60% power factor, can the heater operate within the manufacturer’s recommendation?
