HW 1.5:   Getting RMS Right

 

           

 

The waveform above is applied across a 10 Ohm resistor.  SHOW YOUR WORK as you calculate the following:

 

a)      Fundamental Frequency

b)      Instantaneous Power (volt-amps) at 1.5 Seconds and at 2.5 Seconds

c)      Total energy dissipated each cycle in Joules

d)      Average Power in Watts

e)      The value of DC voltage that would dissipate the same average power in the 10 Ohm Resistor

f)        The effective (RMS) value of the above voltage waveform

g)      The average value of the voltage waveform
