: Wouldn't it be amazing if we could all be ideal renaissnce people? Imagine the wealth of knowledge we would know. However, agreeing with all of you, in modern times there is far too much out there to try to master it all. Plus, society does not seem to advocate knowing everything. For example, we go to college to earn a degree in a specific area. Even though we will take a few lib ed classes varying from our majors, in no way do we learn or specialize in them all. I also feel that the way the world works now, we no longer take the time to learn on our own and try to be equally specialized, as they did during the renaissance.
