Biology 1011, Fall Semester 2005

Instructor: Dr. Thomas R. Hrabik

The tentative lecture schedule for the 2nd portion of General Biology 1 for spring semester-2005 is listed below.  Below you will find copies of the lecture material for each subject.  The material will be useful for you in several ways including 1) to serve as a template for you to take notes in lecture, 2) to serve as a study guide while preparing for exams and 3) to allow you to review these concepts as you proceed through other courses.  By printing these materials prior to class, you will be able to focus your attention on the material rather than on frantically taking notes.  The lecture material covered in class will comprise the information that will be covered on the exams.

Points to Consider

These materials are made available here to augment the lectures, not to replace attendance in lectures.  There may be material on the lecture exams that is not shown in these notes.  Your attendance in lectures will be vital to your achieving the highest test scores possible.

Many of the definitions and key points covered in lecture are included the material below so you do not have to sacrifice listening to the overall message of the lecture to write definitions and concepts verbatim.  However, without adding notes while attending lecture, examining these materials alone may leave you unprepared.  As such, it will be important for you to attend the lectures to clarify the material provided.  By adding your own notes, you will tailor the information to best suit your learning style.

Often, late breaking news of new scientific findings from sources outside of the text is relevant to the topics covered in lecture.  I may add such information after these materials are posted on the web.  However, I will place the material on the web close to the dates of the lectures to give you the most updated references possible.
