Fifty Years of Service

The Fredenberg community was invited to an appreciation dinner held December 6, 2009 at the Fredenberg Chapel basement in honor of FVFD's fifty years of service to the township.

Several members have more than thirty years of service to the department. FVFD is an all volunteer department that has served their community continuously since 1959.

Live Burn Video

FVFD personnel participated in a 'live burn' exercise thanks to a local resident who donated their cabin. The exercise included FVFD personnel and fire fighting students from Lake Superior College. The practice was used to gauge response time, teach entry techniques to the students and maintain proficiency for trained fire fighters. Personnel and students were also encouraged to study the fire as it engulfed the building to understand how fire behaves in a building.
