Novel methodologies for the synthesis of unctionalized pyroglutamates
Fluorescent molecules have been extensively utilized as biological markers in optical imaging for various diseases.
For in vivo imaging, typically near infrared or longer wavelength molecules are preferred. The advantages of near-infrared dyes include low background auto-fluorescence, low light scattering, higher signal-to-noise ratios and deep tissue penetration with bright colors.
In this project we design, synthesize and evaluate highly fluorescent water-soluble molecules as tumor imaging and anticancer agents.
