Chemistry of Aromatic Macrocyclic Compounds : preparation, characterization, and application of new metal-free, transition-metal, and lanthanide phthalocyanines, porphyrins, and related compounds.

Chemistry of Ferrocenes and Analogues : preparation and solvatochromism of vinylferrocenes with electron-withdrawing groups. Ferrocene-containing macrocyclic compounds.

Oxygen-Transfer Reactivity of High-Valence Molybdenum Complexes : preparation, characterization, and oxygen-transfer reactivity of discrete molybdenum complexes, which mimic active sites in molybdopterin enzymes.

Oxygen-Transfer Reactivity of High-Valence Transition-Metal Phthalocyanines : preparation, characterization, oxygen-transfer reactivity and reaction mechanisms of transition-metal phthalocyannines and their analogues.

Computational Inorganic Chemistry : investigation of electronic structure and modeling of spectroscopic parameters (Mössbauer, EPR, UV-vis, NMR, etc ) in inorganic and organometallic compounds.

Crystallography : General trends in secondary interactions in macrocyclic and hypervalent iodine compounds.
