Here's a suggested agenda for tomorrow night's meeting that will be held from 6:30 - 6:55 at Hartley Nature Center. At 7:00 we'll start the main program = Bob Olen, County Extension Educator, speaking on controlling deer and other varmits in the garden.
Bob just called to say he's trying out a new PowerPoint
presentation on us and has a new handout that includes last year's research
on the subject so even if you have seen Bob talk on this subject at local conferences
stop by, you may learn something new.
1. Meet and greet
2. Updates on upcoming events
3. Comm Garden sign - in November we approved spending money to install a permanently-secured
plaque or sign at the Community Garden at Leif Erikson Park. I believe (sorry
- don't have my notes w/ me) the general suggestion was to go with stone, but
we will review this to make sure as well as finalizing the wording that we
will then pay big bucks to have (literally!) set in stone.
4. Other new or old business as time allows.
Does anyone have suggestions for a thank you gift for Bob? We can offer to
pay him our usual $25 speaker fee but this may be something he does for his
job in which case ... perhaps one of Sam Thayer's "Foragers' Harvest" books
would be better?
See you tomorrow night!
