We need your help to keep the garden looking good over the summer, please let us know when you would be willing to put in a few hours. If you know what dandelions look like, we need you! If you are worried about not recognizing plants, we will be happy to pair you up with someone more experienced. Some other easily recognized weeds we have nearby are: Common plantain, Common tansy, Crabgrass, Lambsquarters (Goosefoot), Pineappleweed, White and Yellow sweet clover, and others pictured in this Univ. of Minn Extension Web site. (Minn. DNR list of invasive terrestrial plants.)
Many hands make light work - and it works best when we sign up two (or more) people for a two week period. Two can work together or split up the weeks, whatever works. We ask only that during those two weeks the garden is checked at least twice, or after a storm or extremely dry weather. Pull any recognizable weeds - if not sure, leave it. Report what is blooming, water needs and any damage or problems to Evelyn and Alden, our Community Garden Maintenance Coordinators.
