WHEN: June 27th
WHERE:
AGENDA:
Starting at 6:30 PM, we'll have not one but TWO yards tours ofl Wild Ones members in Duluth. We'll start at Cathy's house at 3700 E. Superior Street. I have not had the chance to see Cathy's yard before but am really looking forward to this, our first "show me/help me" tour of the year. After Cathy's house we will take a tour at Clayton's yard at 3020 London Road. Clayton's house features many woodland native plants as well as approximately 5,253 species of hosta (that's just my own rough estimate - come count them for yourself).
Rumor has it there will be food treats such as pie involved too so come join us! Carpooling is encouraged, especially to Clayton's as there is no parking on London Rd.
Breaking news/reply from Clayton!
The Showy Lady's-slippers are in bloom (both white and the pink/white) at my house! A Grass Pink orchid is about to pop open, hopefully it will be showing some color by tomorrow evening. As far as Carol's rumor about pie, I am not sure which I enjoy more . . . gardening or making pies. Anyway, the rumor is reality, there will be a selection of flavors for you to sample after the tour.
Regarding parking, since we all park first at Cathy's with ample parking on Superior Street, I will have my mini-van there and can shuttle a load to my house and others can pool rides from being parked there and I will shuttle people back to their parked car.
Hope to see all tomorrow night.
