Cleaning Update for Duluth Campus - June 29, 2020
During the Sunrise Plan, Facilities Management Custodians have been deep cleaning and disinfecting every building using cleaning agents approved by the Environmental Protection Agency for killing the COVID19 virus. Items and areas cleaned included furniture, door handles and plates, light switches, elevator buttons, ledges and handrails, and waste stream receptacles. As custodians continue to help protect the campus by increased cleaning and disinfecting, they need your help to maintain community health. Updated cleaning guidelines can be found HERE.
Cleaning Touch Points in Offices
As part of Duluth Facilities Management's response to COVID19, we are asking faculty, staff and students to clean their office space so custodians can focus on increased cleaning and disinfection of public spaces. Please refer to the guidance document.
Cleaner and Disinfectant Procedures
Cleaner and disinfectant will be delivered to the employee returning to work. Education on chemicals and instructions on a replacement plan will be discussed in an initial meeting with the employee. If you have questions about our cleaning products, please email email@example.com.
7-day disinfectant replacement will be done weekly (yellow label) on Mondays (or Tuesdays if there is a Monday Holiday) by 10 AM through designated distribution points (see map). Please return your expired product to the distribution point of your choice and pick up a new bottle of disinfectant.
30-day cleaner replacement will be done monthly (blue label) on the first Monday of the month (or Tuesday if there is a Monday Holiday) by 10 AM through designated distribution points (see map). Please return your expired product to the distribution point of your choice and pick up a new bottle of cleaner.
Garbage, Recycling, and Composting Bins
During this time of reduced operations, Facilities Management has designated locations for emptying garbage, recycling, and composting bins. We will only be emptying the bins starred on the map found HERE. We ask for your help in bringing your garbage, recycling, and composting to one of the starred bins located near you. Thank you!
Use of Clear Partitions
Guidelines on use of clear partitions in various spaces to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 are now published to the University Health and Safety website (https://www.uhs.umn.edu/partition-guidance). A brief checklist/screening tool was also developed to help departments evaluate whether a partition would be effective in their spaces.
