Health Services will be taking COVID calls on Thursday and Friday (Nov 26-27) this week from 10:30am-7:00pm.

Please read the following information to learn how we can best serve your COVID-related needs.

We are all experiencing uncertain times and new challenges.  Health Services is here to support you although our services may look a little different at this time.  On this page you'll find some of the nuts & bolts of our operations and services during the pandemic, but please note the additional pages for COVID-19 information to guide through managing exposures, symptoms, testing, etc..

Face coverings are required, per UMD, Duluth and State of MN ordinances.

We are using two entrances to the clinic building:

  • Front door for COVID-19 symptoms/testing
  • Side entrance for non Covid-19 concerns

COVID questions or concerns? HS is offering COVID nurse after hours triage until 7:00 p.m. M-F. Please call 218-726-8155.

COVID testing is available at Health Services, except from 12/19/20-1/3/21.

Hours of operation:

M, T, W, F: phones answered 8am-4pm, doors unlocked 9am-4pm.
Thursdays: phones answered 9am-4pm, doors unlocked 9am-4pm.

What to do if you have had close contact with a person with COVID-19 

Additional information is provided here.

➢     You must quarantine yourself from others for at least 14 days after the last day you were in close contact with the person who has COVID-19. If you live on campus, there are rooms available for students to safely quarantine. 

➢     Consider getting tested and watch yourself for symptoms such as fever, cough, shortness of breath, chills, headache, muscle pain, sore throat, fatigue, congestion, or loss of taste or smell.

➢     Stay home!  Separate yourself from others . Do not go to work, school, or any other place outside the home.

➢     Separate yourself from other people in your home. As much as possible, stay in your room and away from other people in your home. Use a separate bathroom, if available.

➢     A face mask MUST be worn if you need to be around other people.  Wash hands thoroughly.

➢     Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, or use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer containing at least 60% alcohol. Avoid touching your face with unwashed hands.

➢     Stay away from people who may be at high-risk for getting very sick from COVID-19, including people with health conditions like asthma, diabetes, heart disease, liver disease, severe obesity, and those who have weakened immune systems.
