Knox Preliminary New Testament

Msgr. Ronald Knox was requested by the Roman Catholic hierarchy of England and Wales to prepare a new translation of the Bible into English from the Latin Vulgate. This was the first "authorized translation" for Catholics since the Douai version of 1609 and its revisions. In 1944, he had a preliminary version printed for distribution to friends and critics for their comment. The Ramseyer Collection is fortunate to have a copy of this limited distribution publication.
