Computerized Qualifying Round

Moodle Instructions:

NOTE THAT WE HAVE HAD TO CHANGE FROM WebVista to Moodle this year. These are the updated instructions.

• Go to https://moodle2.umn.edu/course/view.php?id=13879.
• Click on the "Login" button for University of Minnesota users.
• Enter the Username and Password provided by the Brain Bee registration system
• NOTE there are two options on the resulting page. At the top is the "Brain Bee Qualifier". You will be able to take this test at the time assigned to your school
  
  Below that is the "Practice Quiz for BB". I highly recommend that you do this one ahead of time. The questions are from a Medical School quiz, so don't expect to get them correct. Just use it to become familiar with the way the Moodle quiz works.

• Check your browser and browser settings at http://www.oit.umn.edu/moodle/technical-requirements/index.htm
  

• Turn off any popup blocking software on your computer (there are many types of popup-blockers, too many to include specific instructions for each one). You should not need to add any medial players for this test.

• To enter the qualifying round testing site, go to:
  https://moodle2.umn.edu/course/view.php?id=13879

• Click on the "Log In" button.  Enter the Username and Password provided by the Brain Bee registration system.

• Click "Brain Bee - Qualifier".

• At the designated time, your school name will show up as a link - click on that link to start the test.

• The computerized qualifying round for the Minnesota Brain Bee consists of a timed, 60 minute, 90 question multiple choice test

• FINISH and SAVE ANSWER ARE DIFFERENT.

You should hit SAVE and continue after you answer each question.  This will store your answer, indicated by the check mark in the left hand grid. You can change your answer at any time --- just be sure to hit "save answer" again.

When you have answered all questions, you will see a "Submit all and finish" button.  You will only be allowed to hit this button once.  It signals that you are totally finished with the test, and are satisfied with your answers.

• The top 30 students from this qualifying round will be contacted and given the opportunity to participate in the Minnesota State Brain Bee that will be held on the Minneapolis campus of the University of Minnesota, on Wednesday, February 6, 2013.
