Canoe with the turtles and ducks of Rock Pond! Your session accommodates a blend of basic skills instruction, social interaction, environmental awareness and on water games to facilitate
learning! Ages 12+. Youth under 12 may canoe with an adult chaperone in the boat with them. Includes instruction, boats, paddles and safety equipment. You provide adult chaperones, swim suits and towels. Ages 12 and older. Youth under 12 may paddle with an adult chaperone next to them in the shallow end of the pool.
4 to 5 people: First hour = $65, $45/hour after that
6 to 10 people: First hour = $100, $65/hour after that

Practice and play with whitewater kayaking skills in our pool! Your session accommodates a blend of basic skills instruction, social interaction and on water games to facilitate learning! Includes instruction, boats, paddles and safety equipment. You provide adult chaperones, swim suits and towels. Ages 12 and older. Youth under 12 may paddle with an adult chaperone next to them in the shallow end of the pool.
4 - 12 people: $155/hour

Climbing at one of our two indoor climbing facilities is a great experience for groups of all ages. Specific, focused programming is available beyond standard belaying and climbing techniques if desired. Reservation of both climbing walls is possible, at an additional cost. Includes instruction, harnesses, shoes, helmets. You provide adult chaperones for groups with participants under the age of 12 or groups with any unique needs. For ages 6 and older.
1 to 10 people: $95/hour
11 to 20 people: $110/hour

Our slackline course is located outside, near our low ropes elements and tennis courts. A very rewarding and surprisingly challenging yet achievable experience! Includes instructors to facilitate and debrief the experience. You provide clothing appropriate for the weather of the day. All ages, with chaperones for youth under 12.
1 to 10 people: $60/hour
11 to 20 people: $75/hour

Our low ropes course presents a wonderful opportunity and challenge to any small group. Facilitated by skilled instructors, your group will spend time working through challenges together with specific focus on improving group problem solving and communication. Includes instructors to facilitate and debrief the experience. You provide clothing appropriate for the weather of the day. Ages 12 and up.
1 to 10 people: $80/hour
11 to 20 people: $100/hour

Our staff are able to facilitate fun, engaging, and challenging initiative style games and activities to help groups break the ice together, let off some steam, or focus on something more specific as requested by the group. Includes instructors to facilitate and debrief the experience, and all equipment necessary for the activities. You provide appropriate clothing for
active movement and interaction. All ages, with chaperones for youth under 12.
1 to 15 people: $60/hour
16 to 30 people: $90/hour

Welcome to the walk-in campground in Bagley Nature Area, right on the UMD Campus. This tents-only, primitive campground offers 6 rustic campsites, surrounded by forests. Enjoy hiking
on the wood-chipped trails, explore the forests, and discover tent-camping. Close to the Superior Hiking Trail.
$25/campsite (accommodates up to 6 people per campsite).

Rent our pool and have a splashing good time at your next party or event. Perfect for private parties, family gatherings, youth groups and special events.

Add whitewater kayaking to your pool session for an additional $100/hour if your group size is 12 people or less. Includes instruction, boats, paddles and safety equipment. You provide adult chaperones, swim suits and towels. Ages 12 and older. Youth under 12 may paddle with an adult chaperone next to them in the shallow end of the pool.

Join us at the Lester River mouth for basic instruction using our stand-up paddleboards. Sessions to fit your schedule are available July 1 through mid-August. Includes instruction, boards, paddles, wetsuits and safety equipment. You provide adult chaperones, swimsuits, towels, shoes to get wet, snack or a bag lunch. Ages 12 and older. Youth under 12 may paddle with an adult chaperone on the board with them.
4 to 6 people: $200 (4 hours)
Each additional person add $30 up to 12 people maximum.

Choose between two destinations: Experience the Duluth Harbor with its freighters, expansive skyline, and bird sanctuary island; OR explore Lake Superior's rugged coastline and crystalline waters from our Surf Shack on the Lester River. Trips are available July 1 through mid-August. Includes instruction, boats, paddles, kayaking and safety equipment. You provide adult chaperones, swim suits, towels, snacks or bag lunches. Ages 12 and older. Youth under 12 may paddle with an adult chaperone in the boat with them.
4 to 6 people: $200 (4 hours) Lester River OR Duluth Harbor

Spend the day developing your paddling skills and exploring the river in a tandem or solo canoe on flatwater through class I-II rapids. We meet at the UMD Outpost (1 mile East of Carlton, MN next to Jay Cooke State Park). Trips are available July 1 through mid-August. Includes instruction, boats, paddles and safety equipment. You provide adult chaperones, swim suits, towels, shoes to get wet, snacks or bag lunches. Ages 12 and older.
Minimum 6 people: $570 (8 hours)
Each additional person add $85 up to 12 people maximum.

Discover rugged basalt cliffs, the majestic Split Rock Lighthouse, and crystal blue waters of Lake Superior's North Shore on a three or four day kayak camping adventure! Our trained instructors will teach basic strokes and rescues necessary for a safe and enjoyable trip at one of our waterfront locations in Duluth. The first night will be spent camping in Bagley Nature Center in Duluth before heading up the shore for a 1-2 night kayak camping adventure.
3 to 5 people:

Explore islands with sand beaches, lighthouses, shipwrecks, sea caves, and artifacts of past inhabitants within Wisconsin's Apostle Islands National Lakeshore on Lake Superior. Stargaze, swim, and hike with your friends. Our experienced leaders will introduce you to equipment, safety, and paddling techniques.
4 to 6 people:
3 day tour: $1300

7 to 10 people:

STAFF TRAINING AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Learn how to prepare for and react to swift water rescue situations. Classroom and hands-on learning focuses on equipment, rope skills, self and assisted-rescues that are done from in or out of the boat. The final day is dedicated to handling on-river rescue scenarios in groups. Paddlers must be comfortable paddling a kayak or canoe in at least Class II whitewater.

Paddle in 10-15 knot winds, 1-2 foot waves or surf, within 1.5 nautical miles from shore. Par-ticipants will receive documentation of having achieved a certain level of paddling ability. This is a prerequisite for the ACA Instructor Certi-fication Workshop in June, and an excellent opportunity for anyone wanting to receive an evaluation on their skills.

In this supportive environment you will demonstrate and hone your skills, receive a professional evaluation of your paddling skills, technical knowledge, rescue ability, teaching ability, group management, and interpersonal skills. Students who pass will earn certification.
