All Campus Safety Training Opportunity - Tomorrow
The UMD Police Department will host a free training event on Tuesday, December 4th for students, faculty, and staff regarding campus response to Active Shooter and Violent Event
THE UMD POLICE DEPARTMENT PRESENTS:
ACTIVE SHOOTER & VIOLENT EVENT RESPONSE A TRAINING EVENT FOR UMD STUDENTS, FACULTY, & STAFF
The UMD Police Department will host a free training event for students, faculty, and staff regarding campus response to Active Shooter and Violent Event.
Two separate sessions will be offered:
Tuesday, December 4, 2018 @ 10:00 - 11:30AM
Tuesday, December 4, 2018 @ 1:30 - 3PM
Kirby Student Center Rafters
Sergeants Mike Brostrom and Chris Shovein will provide information and personal security options to prepare mentally and physically to survive critical incidents or other violent events. Topics will include: Active Shooter/s, Terrorism, and Violent Crime.
Sergeants Brostrom and Shovein are graduates of the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center's active shooter/violent event response program. As certified instructors on this topic, they have conducted numerous training sessions with UMD employee and student groups, area law enforcement officers, and local businesses.
At the conclusion of this 60-minute program, there will be 30 minutes provided for open discussion. Members of the UMD Police Department and Facilities Management will be available for questions related to UMD's preparedness and response capabilities.
All students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to attend this important learning opportunity.
