I was born and raised in Coon Rapids, Minnesota and have lived there for most of my life. Growing up, I spent many years being active in my Boy Scout troop as a leader and Eagle Scout as well as participating in wrestling and football. My family helped encourage my love for the outdoors by taking me on many camping trips all around Minnesota, spending countless days in the boat and on the ice fishing and instilling in me values that taught me to hold a conservation attitude toward the environment. After briefly studying at Bemidji State and Anoka Ramsey Community College, I have finally found my home here at UMD. I am majoring in Environment & Sustainability and minoring in Sociology. Other fields of interest are Mycology and Soil Sciences.
I am passionate about sustainability because it encourages me to make better lifestyle choices in numerous ways. Also, sustainability can be applied in all facets of life such as cultural, ecological and economical. I want to grow and better understand how to educate and promote sustainability to friends, family and my community. When I’m not in the office, you can catch me serving out great espresso drinks at Dovetail Cafe & Marketplace, hiking, camping, ice fishing, or digging for more vinyl records.
My favorite color of green is moss green.
