Declaring Checked Exceptions

• Example: Opening a file may throw FileNotFoundException:
  

  public void read(String filename) throws FileNotFoundException
  {
   FileReader reader = new FileReader(filename);

  }
  

• Can declare multiple exceptions
  

  public void read(String filename)
   throws IOException, ClassNotFoundException
  public static void main(String[] args)
   throws IOException, ClassNotFoundException
