When you are logged in to the Payara admin console, open the "JDBC" subnode of the "Resources" node in the left pane. This will bring up a list of existing connection pools as shown below. Then click on the "New" button. This will start a two-step process for creating a new connection pool.
For step 1 you need to give a name to your connection pool. This name will be used soon when you set up the pool as a resource. Also use the combo box widgets to select the "Resource Type" and "Database Vendor". These should be exactly as shown below. Then click on the "Next" button.
In step 2 you first need to click on the "Ping" enabled checkbox. You will then need to scroll down to modify additional properties.
After scrolling to the bottom, you need to fill in or modify the following properties:
After entering this information click on the "Finish" button.
If everything was done correctly you should see the display below. The name of your connection pool should appear in the "Pool Name" column.
You should also see a yellow banner "Ping Succeeded". If you see a ping error message instead you can click on the pool name to bring up all of the connection pool properties. Check them carefully and correct any errors.
