Payara is configured with a built-in administrative domain named
payaradomain
.
I recommend deleting this domain.
You will replace it soon with one that you have configured to suit your
own needs.
gshute@ukko:~/server/payara41$ bin/asadmin list-domains payaradomain not running Command list-domains executed successfully. gshute@ukko:~/server/payara41$ bin/asadmin delete-domain payaradomain Domain payaradomain deleted. Command delete-domain executed successfully. gshute@ukko:~/server/payara41$ bin/asadmin list-domains CLI141 No Domains to list. Command list-domains executed successfully.
Now you are ready to create a new domain with the
create-domain
suncommand.
You configure the server with the create-domain
subcommand.
You will need to specify an administrator name (usually
admin
) and a password of your own choosing.
You should enter "admin" for the user name. Do not just hit the ENTER key to accept the default for the admin user name or for the admin password. If you do you will not be able to administer Payara remotely.
gshute@ukko:~/server/payara41$ bin/asadmin create-domain domain1 Enter admin user name [Enter to accept default "admin" / no password]> admin Enter the admin password [Enter to accept default of no password]> •••••• Enter the admin password again> •••••• Default port 4848 for Admin is in use. Using 42569 Default port 8080 for HTTP Instance is in use. Using 60609 most of command output omitted Domain domain1 created. Domain domain1 admin port is 42569. Domain domain1 admin user is "admin". Command create-domain executed successfully.
Be sure to record the two important port numbers in the output.
